CCR Founder to Keynote at IB Conference

Charles Fadel, founder and chairman of the Center of Curriculum Redesign (CCR), will provide the keynote address at the International Baccalaureate (IB) Global Conference in Washington, D.C. on July 25, 2024. Speaking to the conference theme, “Inspiring learners, realizing potential,” Charles will share his thoughts on Education for the Age of AI with the more than 1,000 expected attendees from all over the world.

IB is a global leader in international education—developing inquiring, knowledgeable, confident, and caring young people. Their school programs, found in over 5,000 schools world-wide, empower school-aged students to take ownership in their own learning and help them develop future-ready skills to make a difference and thrive in a world that changes fast. IB’s conference programs inspire, educate, and connect thousands of educators every year.

CCR is pleased to have collaborated with IB for close to a decade. “I am looking forward to continuing and expanding CCR’s relationship with the International Baccalaureate Organization and IB educators at their global conference,” shared Charles. “(IB’s Director General) Mr. Heinonen was kind enough to write the prologue to my latest book, Education for the Age of AI, reiterating that we share the goal of preparing students with the competencies they need to serve themselves and society to the most fulfilling extent possible in the rapidly evolving, AI-ubiquitous future. I was pleased to be given this opportunity to talk personally about those skills and competencies with so many educators with direct responsibility for what happens in thousands of classrooms around the world.”

In his prologue, Mr. Heinonen stated, “I feel privileged to write this prologue…This combination of theory and practice is the beauty of what CCR has been doing for over a decade.”

CCR is a global non-profit organization dedicated to improving education and openly propagating its recommendations, frameworks, curricula, courseware, and professional development on a worldwide basis, via answering the question, “Why, What and How should students learn for the age of AI?” CCR’s focus on relevance in education brings together international organizations, jurisdictions, academic institutions, corporations, and non-profit organizations.
